On the evening of the 12th of January, 1899, the communities of Lynmouth and Porlock rallied in a raging storm to save the Forest Hall- a ship foundering in the Bristol Channel.
Together they carried and dragged the heavy lifeboat Louisa thirteen miles across open moor to launch it from Porlock Weir and saved everyone on board.
Exmoor’s own Pleasure Dome Theatre Company, known for their open-air productions at the Valley of Rocks along with their project partners the RNLI are proud to present LOUISA, a retelling of this incredible true story in a new play directed by the award-winning Scott Le Crass and underscored with stirring sea shanties.
