I am an artist living in Bideford, North Devon.
I paint a variety subjects and styles in inks, oils, acrylics and watercolours, including portraiture in oils, abstract inks and freestyle land and seascapes inspired by my local North Devon coast.
I do not work to one formulaic method and like to experiment, always seeking new ways to look at, and capture my subject with contrasts of structure, light and shade, inspired often by my local coast and countryside and the characters who live here. I use a variety of techniques and mediums to produce the desired effect.
Mostly self-taught, I have had a long career spanning over forty plus years painting in all mediums, and I have taught in art studios in Spain, Berkshire and Wiltshire, both in classes and on a private one-to-one basis. I have also given demonstrations to various clubs. My paintings hang in America, Canada, Finland, Spain, Germany and throughout the UK.
